| LANDSCAPING OUTDOOR OF AN EXISTING HOLIDAY HOUSE |
The landscaping of the garden at Protaras was a creation of plants and scents a visual enjoyment of colours, shapes and materials, an architectural harmony of the natural world. During the design, the views, the privacy, the direct sunlight, the shading and maintenance issues were all considered.
The view of the horizon and the sea was achieved by the creation of wooden platforms at various levels to allow the space to take on, a more amphitheatrical form. The tallest plateau hosts the water element with a jacuzzi and the lower levels include the relaxation areas with sun loungers.
The privacy as well as the sunning-shading of the space was realised by carefully selected planting which overseen by a gardener. The appropriate selection of trees and shrubs was chosen according to the conditions affecting the survival and growth of plants, such as the soil type and the quantity and quality of the available irrigation water, etc.
The choice of hard surfaces such as deck floors and in-situ cast concrete was based on durability in order to reduce the need for maintenance.
